Connect festival 2025 will take place from March 13th to March 15th 2025

Connect Festival is an annual festival, arranged by Tongeneration and the composition students from Malmö Academy of Music. Its aim is to present a varied take on today’s contemporary music, with music written in the continuous development of western art music, either for traditional ensemble settings or for more obscure ones. The festival also focuses strongly on exploring and evolving the versatile opportunities provided in an electro-acoustic setting.
REAKTION! Ensemble is Connect Festival’s own Festival Ensemble with a fluid constellation.

Electro-acoustics with Elide Sulsenti

Elide Sulsenti is an Italian cellist based in Switzerland. Active in the field of contemporary music, she recently received the Fritz Gerber Award 2023. Over the years, she has performed numerous premières and worked with composers of various nationalities. Her upcoming concert at Inter Arts Center will be performed solo in interaktion with electronic effects and all the pieces are newly composed by the composer students of the Malmö Academy of Music.

REAKTION! Ensemble

REAKTION! Ensemble is Connect Festivals own in-house ensemble. It is specifically put together with a new constellation for each year’s festival and is comprised by students from Malmö Academy of Music.

Baltic Bassoon Quartet

Baltic Bassoon Quartet was founded in 2019 and consists of four friends who are all passionate about the bassoon. The members of the quartet come from different parts of Europe but are united by their love for the instrument.

The bassoon’s wide range and various tonal qualities provide the quartet with great musical diversity. With the ability to play everything from gently beautiful to rhythmically groovy, the ensemble offers a broad repertoire. The contrabassoon adds another level with its deep bass tones that make the room vibrate!
